The mission of the team at Good George above all else is to bring beer & cider drinkers experiences worthy of their time and efforts. Good George encourages them to explore the awesome world of beer and cider, show them how best to enjoy it, and have a bloody good time in the process.

Our task for the new Good Union Bar and Bistro was to create a space that would bring people together and create a community hub within the growing Cambridge region.

The ‘Pink Church’ (a name gained over time, as the building has always been a shade of pink) & The brewery, Good Union, were a partnership made in heaven. Maintaining and improving the heritage elements of the iconic building was a key focus and driver for the design. The space had to have the playful Good George touch, while catering to an eclectic mix of people who would frequent the bar (regulars and passers through).

We worked with the aesthetic of the church to bring materials and detailing to suit the old world charm, while also adding unexpected moments. Hinting to the Lead light windows in the bar front, and creating a bespoke "Good George" lead light window above the stacked beer tanks. Bespoke murals are spotted around the interior, and the colour stairway to heaven leads you up into the mezzanine space.
