Our Story
Material Creative is an Auckland based interior design studio. We seek joy in every project, scouting beyond the scope of convention to enrich the spaces we inhabit through unexpected design.
The idea for Material Creative was hatched on the slopes of the French Alps by friends and Co-Founders Toni Brandso and Liv Patience. Returning home to Auckland, the pair decided to follow their dream of starting a business together but, unfortunately, chose one of the most inopportune times in recent history to do so: the beginning of the GFC. Despite this, the studio managed to find its feet, beginning with the understated, rustic leanings of the iconic Piha Cafe. From there, they built a reputation as boutique designers who could put an unexpected spin on interiors, with projects completed throughout New Zealand.

Our team collaborates under the guidance of co-founders and directors, Liv Patience and Toni Brandso, whose openness and successful track record inspire all our designs for commercial and residential projects.
As a diverse team at Material Creative, we are driven by our individual passion and leadership. Working closely with both team members and clients, we dedicate ourselves to delivering each project with professionalism and an authentic design expression.

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source.
